Interdisciplinary research and development laboratory in digital technologies and their interfaces with inclusive education
Creativity, research, development, interdisciplinarity, inclusion
The Interaction Design Laboratory (LDI) is a laboratory for research and development of solutions that aim to expand the way people interact and communicate through different technologies. It is an interdisciplinary proposal involving notably undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of Computing, Design and Education.
The laboratory is linked to the research group Educational Policy Observatory of the PPGE - Graduate Program in Education, acting in the lines of research Mental/intellectual deficiency: cognitive, pedagogical and psychosocial aspects, notably with research in inclusive education policies and their interfaces with digital technologies and schooling processes in basic education.
From the perspective of inclusive education, the research focuses on two aspects: the design of games by children with and without disabilities in basic school to promote inclusion and intellectual development; and the creation and evaluation of educational and accessible technologies from the perspective of universal design.
LDI's team is formed by researchers and academics from various Univali courses, as well as partnerships with other institutions, such as UDESC - Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina, and UFRRJ - Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro.
The laboratory is installed at the School of the Sea, Science and Technology (EMCT), at Univali - University of the Itajaí Valley, Campus Itajaí.
